Starting Music Lessons
Finding a qualified music teacher and starting music lessons can be a challenge. Parents often find the task takes longer than anticipated. It took Anne Vindell a few months to finally make her decision about where to take her daughters for music lessons in the Portland, Oregon area.

My name is Anne Vindell. I have a seven year old daughter who plays the piano and two step daughters. One is twelve and one is eight. The twelve year old plays the violin and the eight year old is going to start playing the cello.
My family and I moved to the Tigard area and we were looking for a place for my daughter to take music lessons. She had taken lessons when she was about four and I wanted her to get back into it. So I contacted Renee at Oregon Music Academy and she followed up with me. She gave me some information and we thought about it for a few months. She followed up again and we came in and met with her.
She tested Aliana’s abilities to see what level she would be at and she told us the structure of the lessons which I thought sounded great. It was exactly what we were looking for. The one on one really appealed to us, to have her teacher really focusing on her instead of a whole classroom. So we signed her up!
I would recommend OMA to others. I think it’s a great value. It’s been a great experience for Aliana. She has a great teacher. She looks forward to coming here every week. It’s just been a really good experience.
