Absences & Makeups

1to1 Lessons (with notice)

Please contact the front desk when you know you will be absent. It’s best to send us an email.  If you contact us before your lesson – before 1:00pm on weekdays and 9:00am on weekends, OMA will reschedule the lesson. Depending on teacher availability, OMA may need to reschedule that lesson with another instructor. If you cannot attend any of the make up options offered to you, you will forfeit the opportunity to make it up. All makeup lessons must occur within 30 days of the lesson that was missed. OMA does not reschedule “rescheduled lessons”.

1to1 Lessons (without notice)

If you contact us after 1:00pm on weekdays and 9:00am on weekends on the day of your lesson (or you don’t contact us at all), OMA will not provide a make up lesson for the absence. No credits or refunds will be provided for missed lessons.

Classes, Workshops, or Camps

OMA does not provide makeup lessons for missed group classes, workshops, or camps.

OMA Teachers & Staff

From time to time, our instructors will be ill or need to take time off.  When this occurs and your teacher needs to miss a lesson, a substitute teacher will be provided. We have a way of making sure your substitute teacher is updated on where you left off at your last lesson to make sure your lessons continue to run smoothly.

Cancellations by OMA

OMA may cancel classes due to inclement weather or other extenuating circumstances. OMA will provide a substitute teacher, a makeup lesson, or a Zoom lesson depending on the situation.

Billing

Oregon Music Academy (OMA) is a year-round music school. When you enroll you are reserving a “seat” during a set day and time for lessons each week. Each year consists of 48 weekly lessons plus 2 concerts for a total of 50 activities. The annual tuition is broken into 12 equal monthly payments for your convenience. Some months may have more or less activities. Tuition will remain the same each month regardless of the number activities in that particular month. You are not charged for lessons during the 4 weeks per year OMA is closed: 1 week for fall break, 2 weeks for winter break,1 week for spring break.

Automatic Payment Plan

Automatic payment with debit or credit card is required for OMA enrollment. For your safety and protection, we do not accept personal checks or cash. By providing credit/debit card account information, you are accepting enrollment in OMA’s automatic payment plan for the cardholder. You are authorizing OMA to charge the card number on file for tuition, materials, and fees today and on the 1st of each month for your balance due until you complete the withdrawal process. Rates are subject to change. OMA will provide at least 30 days notice of any tuition change. If OMA is unable to process automatic payment using your provided credit card information, your account will be considered past due and will be charged a $30 late fee. If payment is not made, you agree to pay the costs associated with collecting this debt.

Cancellations

You may cancel your account and stop automatic payments at any time by notifying us at office@OregonMusicAcademy.com and then completing a short online Withdrawal Form at least 30 days in advance of your desired end date. Any unused make-up lessons will be forfeited when you withdraw. OMA does not provide refunds or credits for absences or unused lessons. Missing your lessons is not considered notice of withdrawal.

Excessive Rescheduling

A $30 rescheduling fee may be charged per occurrence for any excessive rescheduling and/or lesson day/time changes.

Refunds

When you enroll in one of our programs (classes, lessons, workshops, camps, etc.) you are reserving one of a limited number of “seats”. Because your reservation blocks other interested students from reserving the same seat, we do not offer refunds for any reason.

Billing Disputes

We are your first option for billing disputes. You will provide Oregon Music Academy with 30 days to attempt settlement of any billing dispute before disputing with any third-party credit/debit card company or bank.

Should we receive a chargeback from a third-party credit/debit card company or bank on your behalf before we have been given a chance to resolve the issue, we have the right to collect on the rendered services and any fees associated with those disputes.

Regardless of the outcome of the chargeback, we retain the right to collect on any rendered services or fees that are due. We will submit any disputed amounts to a collection agency.

Student & Parent Behavior

Maintaining a safe, positive, and productive learning environment for kids is our top priority. OMA reserves the right to expel a student (or a parent) at any time for unsafe, negative, or disruptive behavior with no refund.

Medical Care Consent & Liability Release

You authorize all medical, dental, surgical, diagnostic, and hospital procedures as may be performed or prescribed by a treating licensed physician for you or your child if you cannot be reached in an emergency. You also agree that neither you nor your child will bring any claims of any kind against OMA, its owners, instructors, or affiliates as a result of any injuries, expenses, or damages that you or your child may suffer in connection with your participation in OMA, whether such claims are known, unknown, or may arise in the future.

Media Release

OMA occasionally uses photographs, video, audio, music, and written statements in its effort to train staff and improve and promote its music education services. You irrevocably grant OMA the absolute right and permission to copyright and/or publish or use written work, audio, video, statements, or photographs of or by you and your child, or in which you or your child may be included in whole or in part, or composite in conjunction with your name or a fictitious name, or reproduction thereof, made through any media, for art, advertising, or any other lawful purpose whatsoever. You waive the right to inspect or approve the finished work.
